The opening weekly sale of Calves and Stirks at J36 Rural Auction saw an entry of 33 calves forward mainly made up of Black and Whites. The handful of beef calves forward saw fortnight JM Barton & Son of Lupton Hall sell a 15 day old Limousin Heifer to £170 and a 14 day old Limousin bull to £165. Black and White bulls sold to £95 twice for good one month olds ML & SM Dobson of Espford Farm with younger rearing sorts around £40 mark and killing sorts a slightly sharper trade.

The weekly sale of store lambs saw 745 forward with best continental lambs £64 from P. Stephenson with others £62.50 from JH Strickland. Hill bred lambs saw Rough Fell Mule weathers from MJ & JD Handley sell to £58 with Cheviots £50.50 from GJ & CA Penellum. All lambs sold averages £51.16 with a larger number of long keep lambs forward.
