North West Auctions held its weekly primestock sale which saw Jeff Bargh top the market with his Texel x hoggs selling for 195p/kg (£84) purchased by Michael Lomax. Hoggs in the 39-42kg bracket averaged 164p/kg with well fleshed hoggs once again in keenest demand.

Cast sheep sold to £120 for a Texel ram from EE Thornton & Sons with Continental ewes £64 - £78, Mules generally £50-£64 with hill ewes £28-£40.

Prime bulls sold to 184.5p/kg for a dairy bred bull from TD & A Gardner who also sold Continentals to 182.5p/kg and natives to the same price.
