North West Auctions Lancaster Mart held its monthly sale of pedigree and commercial dairy cattle on Monday with a large crowd including 19 buyers from throughout the northern counties all keen to purchase replacement stock.

Judging this month was Mr Alan Robson ‘Brockafield’ who had a compact but quality entry of cattle presented before him. First prize heifer and sale day Champion was Pennine Poppy 1023 from Messrs Drinkall Bros, Abbeystead (pictured above with William Drinkall left & Alan Robson judge). Three weeks calved giving 29.8 litres she sold to regular purchaser N & SJ Sanderson, Brompton. The day’s second top price of £2320 was paid for Saltoke Sarah 14 from W & C Gorst & Sons, Ellel and was purchased by K & DE Woodhouse.
