Posted Wednesday, 03 November 2010, 12.55pm

NW Auctions Kendal enjoyed another busy primestock day on Tuesday with almost 2500 sheep in the market and 15 calves.

Prime lambs were good to sell all day. Standard weights averaged an excellent 162pp kg with an overall of 158pp kg. This was very pleasing when considering the number of hill lambs included. The top price of the day was £76 to RR & JA Knowles, Myers Farm, for Charollais lambs purchased by Mike Lomax of Bolton. Lambs also sold to 178pp kg (£71) to R & B Parker, High Hallbeck purchased by Andrew Dawson for B Riley & Sons, Butchers of Rawtenstall Another excellent entry of ewes were in the words of one buyer seriously dear! There are several buyers for both lambs and ewes every week now at Kendal
